What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of 10 sessions that explore the Christian faith in an informal, fun and friendly environment. Each session starts with a meal, where guests get to know each other and talk. After the meal you watch a great video. Then you break into small groups of 6 – 8 and have a conversation about the video topic. No question is too simple and no answer is pre-packaged. As in all conversations everyone listens and everyone contributes. Meal Having a meal is an essential part of Alpha. Guests feel welcomed and relaxed in a friendly setting and get to know one another. |
Talk
The talks are based on the teaching of the Church, the Bible, and the personal testimony of the speaker. Topics vary from ‘Who is Jesus?’to ‘How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?’
Small group discussion
The small groups provide the opportunity to build trust and friendship. Each group has a host who facilitates the discussion, inviting guests to share openly and honestly, without any criticism or judgment. Within the group, guests learn the art of listening, reading the Scriptures and praying.
